He feels privileged to be a part of the Village School community.  Andy has been working in the classroom since 2002. He has experienced a wide range of student populations during his experiences and has had the opportunity to work with students in every elementary grade level.  Andy is our technology guru and has his master's in Educational Leadership and Administration.
Aisling Clarke: Aisling has been teaching at Village School since 2003.  She has taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.  Aisling enjoys the community-centered environment at Village School and strongly supports teaching the whole child. She has a strong passion for teaching reading and writing as well as bringing technology into the classroom. Aisling is from Crestline, Ca, a small town in the mountains in Southern California.  She spent her youth camping, skiing/snowboarding and traveling. Aisling attended UC Santa Cruz for her Bachelors in Literature with a Minor in Education.  She later received her teaching credential and masters degree at UC Santa Cruz. She currently lives in Santa Cruz with her family.  She spends her time reading, knitting, kayaking and traveling when ever possible.
Sandy Giese: Sandy is teaching 1st grade this year. Sandy's first teaching position was in Santa Clara Unified's Children's Center Preschool. She taught there for 8 years and left to start a family. Sandy doesn't feel that taking time out to be a parent interrupted her teaching career. Instead, she feels it has enhanced her understanding of children and what they need in the classroom. She is a strong advocate of parents being involved in the education of their children.  Sandy will be working to create Village School's Positive Based Intervention Systems (PBIS).  Her knowledge of positive discipline strategies will support this work.
Roberta Hendryx:  Roberta is excited to be teaching 3rd grade this year.  She is a local girl, attending Campbell schools as a child and receiving her degree in Child Development, Teaching Credential, and Master's Degree all from San Jose State University. Roberta has been a teacher in the Campbell School District for 13 years, with most of her experience at Capri Elementary School.
Chris Woods:Chris was born and raised in Western New York.  He grew up in the small college town of Geneseo, New York on Conesus Lake. He spent most of his youth fishing, swimming, and getting into trouble☺
During his high school years he volunteered his time in his mother’s special education classroom and was captain of the swim team. He attended SUNY Fredonia and participated in the award winning Fredonia/Hamburg student teaching program. Chris returned home to Geneseo to get his Master’s in Advanced Teaching. He was also a senior counselor at a summer camp for children with special needs.
Chris has been a dedicated teacher and coach since 1998. Chris taught 2nd grade in Dansville, New York for 10 years. He also coached the girls’ and boys’ swim teams, and the tennis team. Since moving to California, he taught 3rd and 4th grade.  He is excited to be back at Village and teaching 2nd grade again!
He lives near the beach in Santa Cruz with his wife. He enjoys rooting for his favorite sports teams, which are, the Bills (quickly becoming a Niners fan though), the Yankees, (loves going to A’s and Giants games though) and the Sabres (still can’t root for the Sharks).  He also enjoys playing the guitar, reading, swimming, and surfing as much as possible.

She strives to make her classroom a fun and safe place where students love to come to class each day. She holds a BA in Liberal Arts, A California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and MA in Educational Leadership, all from San Jose State University. Elizabeth lives with her husband, Jim, daughter, Addie, and terrier, Bailey. In her free time she likes to read, walk, travel, and ski.
Sherry Stack: Sherry Stack is a 5th grade teacher at Village School. Her undergraduate degree is from UC Davis. Sherry came to Village from Walden West Outdoor School where she taught 5th and 6th grade students from schools throughout the Santa Clara Valley for 20 years.  She was drawn to Village School's community-based approach. Sherry enjoys teaching all subjects, but is particularly excited to teach science.  You can often find her class in the "outdoor classroom" behind the Village School parking lot.
