Advice for a rainy day from Village’s 3rd Graders

With the air quality at unhealthy levels, and rainy season in full swing, our kids have been spending more time indoors at school. Here are our Village third graders’ favorite activities for keeping busy when it’s too smoky or rainy to venture outside on recess break:

Learn

  • Reading, because it’s a good way to learn things.
  • Watching the “Who Was?” show because it’s funny and I get to learn stuff.

Play

  • Playing Scrabble because it’s fun. One time I tried to make a word and guess what the word was? [Insert potty humour]
  • Walking Four Corners “is basically Four Corners… inside, but instead of running to your corner, you walk.”

Create

  • Art. I like to create things using paper, beads, pipe cleaners tape, etc. It helps me express my feelings and creativity.
  • Drawing, because it calms me down. I also like to make things out of paper.

Build

  • LEGOs, because it’s fun and you get to build stuff.
