Village Art Adorns District Walls

Anyone who has been to the Campbell Union School District Office can’t help but notice the colorful, creative and impressive student art adorning its walls.

From Village, Art Teacher Maria P. selects a random assortment of student art each year, which the District frames and hangs. This year, six Village students’ works are featured.

Three of the works are Farmland scapes inspired by Grant Wood, an American artist from the early 20th century best known for his depictions of the rural American Midwest. Students were asked to consider perspective (farther away images are smaller and closer together; nearer images are larger and spread apart) and to apply patterns (using the same imagery or patterns multiple times in their drawings).

Additional works feature a Riverscape, a Cityscape and — from our youngest artist — a Gardenscape.

Congratulations to the budding young artists — Isabella A., Zara F., Perri K., Annabelle Z., Dillon W. and Yui N. — who were selected for this honor. And, if you are ever in Downtown Campbell, stop by the District Office to see a sampling of fine artwork from students throughout the District.
