Into the Wild

 
The Courageous Cats recently explored the farthest reaches of our planet, researching and reporting on some of the fastest, smartest, cutest and most interesting creatures to roam our Earth.

They published their research in a series of books, ‘All About Wild Animals,’ which will be showcased at this year’s 39th annual Richard Ullmann Writing Faire at the Campbell Public Library. Below is a preview of which animals they found the most intriguing and why…

“I learned that tigers have predators — wild jungle dogs!”

“Sharks are at the top of the food chain in the ocean.”

“I chose wildcats because they are cute.”

“Elephants are the biggest mammal in the whole world. I’m going to get a permanent elephant tattoo when I get older.”

Ren

“There are lots of types of sharks. My favorite is a great white sharks. Boa constrictors are the biggest snake.”

“Tigers’ whiskers can tell them what direction the wind is blowing.”

“Hairy angler fish are 5 feet long — taller than [the classroom] door.”

“Jelly fish’s skin is so thin that sunlight and air can pass through their skin.”

“I chose sharks because they look cool. Also, they chomp a lot of fish and eat sea snakes.”

“Orcas are actually a type of dolphin. I also wrote a book about squirrels because they are cute. The most interesting thing about squirrels is that they fly or glide at night.”

“I learned that orcas eat sharks!”

“When I was in Teacher Gretchen’s class, she read a book about belugas. I didn’t really know what a beluga was, but the picture was pretty cute, so I started learning more and more about belugas and they became my favorite animal.”
