Our Volunteer of the Year

Please join me in celebrating GiGi Griffin as our Volunteer of the Year! GiGi represents all of our families working tirelessly to create this special learning community.  GiGi serves on our PTA board, creates Shutterfly albums, is our Project Cornerstone ABC Reading Coordinator, and wrote our winning Project cornerstone Caring School Climate award nomination.  She even designed this year's class logo for the California King Snakes. What truly sets GiGi apart is her understanding of what it truly means to all of us when we create and sustain a community of learners.  In her own words, "The only reason I did any of these things is because someone invited me to do so and encouraged me when I tried.  I don't feel like I'm doing things on my own or that I'm coming up with ideas alone.  I feel like I’m a part of a whole community and I am constantly encouraged, supported and invited to participate in many ways. This is such a warm environment that I am very comfortable trying something new. I really feel like I'm part of a Village.”
